Fantail Bay This camping spot is one of our favorites located on the western side of the coromandel peninsula while not a large camp ground the place is just over the road from the ocean with awsome views out across the Hauraki Gulf, there is not really a beach here as it is all pebbles, but the area is a good picnic spot. The off season there is always a camp spot here but during the holidays it is a different story, the place can get full in a short time, also there is no freedom camping any where on the peninsula and no dogs allowed as well.
