    Henderson Bay To Grenville Point

    Henderson Bay Grenville Point

This walk is really just a stroll along the beach a rarther long one, at least untill you reach Grenville point. This place is accessed off State Hwy 1, and turn onto Henderson Bay road just past the end of the Houhora harbour in the far north, head to the end of the road and you are there.

Motu Island is straight out in front just off the beach, this is an awsome place to go if you have a kayak and one hell of a place for fishing as well, to the left is Rarawa Beach about 1 km walk along the rocks, to the right is Henderson bay, you can access the beach with a 4x4 but this sand is really soft above the water line, even walking down here at high tide is really hard, the walk to the point will take around 1.5 hrs depending on fitness.

When you get to the point there is a little sand hill that gives you access to another beach, if you head left and go up onto the point you can walk out to the end there are a couple of places to get down to water level and some big cliffs aswell, you can also go around at sea level by going over to the other beach and turn left onto the rocks but there is a gut about half way around this is as far as you can go.
